Wednesday 07-05-2025 - 15:31

What’s it about?
This is a march to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia, with a strong focus on standing up for trans rights.

When?
Saturday, May 17th
Meet from 3:00pm

Where?
We’ll start at Bangor Town Clock and head up the High Street to finish at the Pontio Arch.
There’s a detailed route plan in a separate document if you want to check it out.

Rough timings

3:00pm – Gather at the Clock Tower

3:15pm – Speeches

3:30pm – March sets off

Around 4:00pm – We’ll reach the end point at the Pontio Arch

Getting around

The route is step-free and uses pavements the whole way. Howvever there will be an incline on the road next to the Catherdral on the way down.

We’ll only cross one road, using a pedestrian crossing- we’ll wait for the green signal as normal.

There’ll be marshals along the route, including someone leading and someone at the back to make sure everyone’s safe and supported.

Marshals will be wearing hi-vis vests and can be contacted by phone if needed.

They’re there to guide and help, but won’t be stopping traffic.

If you have any questions or specific access needs, feel free to get in touch or chat to one of the marshals on the day.
