Work with us!
Undeb Bangor is a charitable membership organisation, run by students, for students. We are independent of Bangor University and many of our decisions are made by our student members (that's you!) through a range of channels.
Currently, whenever Articles of Association are amended, the changes must be approved by a Student Members’ Meeting, which involves you and all the other students at Bangor!
The Student Members’ Meeting will ensure amendments to the Articles are approved, enabling you, the students, to ensure Undeb Bangor has a clear set of rules and is future-proofed. This is part of the organisation’s commitment to ensure transparency. Our AGM is also the chance for students to directly decide on the SU's priorities for the year. You'll have the opportunity to debate and discuss what you think the Students' Union should be working on.
Every student at Bangor is automatically a member of Undeb Bangor - therefore, every student is invited to attend the Student Members’ Annual General Meeting and ratify the changes to the Articles of Association.
Our Student Voice Team has spent over 6 months identifying improvements based on your feedback and working across teams to ensure the updated Articles of Association and Bye-Laws meet the SU and student community’s needs. As part of this dedication, an external review of Undeb Bangor’s governance arrangements was conducted in Semester Two 2025. Out of this came the recommendation for Undeb Bangor to modernise its Governance arrangements. The Articles also set out that the Board of Trustees, in consultation with members (students) can amend the Articles of Association. This enables Undeb Bangor to adapt in a robust manner to changing landscapes and meet your future requirements.
At the Student Members’ Annual General Meeting, the suggested amendments to the Articles will be presented to our Student Members. Attendees will have the opportunity to openly discuss them.
To conclude, a vote will be cast to ratify the changes to the Articles of Association and pass a resolution.
Once the amendments have passed resolution, they will go to Bangor University for final approval, and an updated copy of the Articles of Association will be submitted to the Charity Commission. Although Bangor University does not decide the policies of Undeb Bangor, they are the primary regulator and funder.
All Students are welcome. You simply need to turn up to the AGM on the 7th of October in PL2 Pontio, 3rd Floor at 6pm.
