Starting university is a big step, and we’re here to help you make the most of it from day one. Whether you’re joining us this September or planning your future at Bangor, Undeb Bangor is your Students’ Union, representing you, supporting you, and helping you shape your student experience.

We support over 10,000 students at Bangor University through representation, events, societies, sports, volunteering, and academic advice. As an independent Students’ Union and registered charity, we work in partnership with the University to ensure your voice is heard. From running campaigns and representing your academic interests to providing support and creating opportunities to get involved, Undeb Bangor is at the heart of student life.
We’re also proudly bilingual and inclusive. UMCB (Undeb Myfyrwyr Cymraeg Bangor), our Welsh Students’ Union, is part of Undeb Bangor and works to promote Welsh language, culture, and community on campus. Whether you’re a fluent Welsh speaker, a learner, or simply interested in Welsh culture, you’re warmly welcomed to get involved.
UMCB represents Welsh-speaking students and supports a wide range of clubs and societies, as well as campaigns to ensure the Welsh language remains a vibrant part of life at Bangor. You don’t need to be fluent to take part, just enthusiastic.
At Bangor, there are more activities and sports than you can ever imagine, it's the perfect way to make friends, meet new people, and try something completely new.
Our biggest welcome event of the year, Serendipity, takes place during Welcome Week at the Brailsford Centre. You’ll find over 150 stalls run by student groups, university services, and local businesses, all ready to help you make the most of your time at Bangor. Expect plenty of freebies, exciting opportunities, and lots of information on how to get involved. It’s the perfect chance to explore your options, meet new people, and dive straight into student life.
