Joining a society is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to get involved at Bangor. Whether you want to explore a hobby, connect with others who share your interests, or try something completely new, there’s a society for you.
1. Purchase Your Societies Pass
Before joining any society, you’ll need to buy a Societies Pass. This is a one-off annual purchase that gives you free access to all our societies and supports the running of the Students’ Union activities.
The Societies Pass:
It is valid for the entire academic year and covers your access to every society!
2. Join Your Societies
Once you have your Societies Pass, you can join as many societies as you like without paying anything further. Whether it’s cultural, creative, academic, faith-based, or just something fun, there’s something for everyone.
3. Pick up your Pass
After purchasing your membership, please visit the Students' Union on the 4th floor of Pontio to collect your membership sticker. An example is shown below:

4. Get Involved
Being part of a society is about more than just attending events. You’ll:
+ Meet like-minded people and make lasting friendships
+ Learn new skills and share your passions
+ Be part of an inclusive and welcoming community
+ Have opportunities to organise activities, trips, and events
Taster Sessions
You can try out activities before committing to a pass!
-
Each student can attend up to two free taster sessions per society.
-
If you’d like to continue taking part after that, you’ll need to purchase a valid Access Pass.
