Lu (they/she)
Hi!! I'm Lu, and I am your treasurer for the year!! I am currently on my first year of zoology with herpetology (after failing my foundation year </33)
My main interests currently are Free! Iwatobi swim club, critical role, chainsaw man, demon slayer, apothecary diaries and more!! My special interest medias (autism go brrrrrr) are ouran highschool host club, assassin's creed, grand theft auto 5 and pokemon!! I am your resident "smile and wave" cosplayer but PLEASE approach me for a yap, I may be an introvert but when you get me talking about stuff I am interested or passionate about (like the fact freddos are expected to be 51p by like 2037, what a scam) I keep on rambling.
I cannot sew, I can make props though!! For example, the horns and mask in the photo you can see were made by me, and my staff in the Marcille photo on our instagram (@bangorcosplaysoc, drop us a follow to keep up to date with what we do!!) was made by me (with my dad agreeing to spray paint it 3 days before the con. Thank you dad <33). I have also made a Keyleth staff and her antlers from TLOVM, and also have Millie's horns and axe from helluva boss ready to go whenever I eventually cosplay her.
Cosplay to me is about being able to express myself. Being a disabled cosplayer (both autism and also suspected hEDS), I don't always have the energy to be able to dress or do my makeup the way I want and so having friends motivate me to do it and tell me I look slay really helps. Pro tip, tell yourself you look slay because you do. My goals for this year is to show anyone can cosplay, no matter if they need a mobility aid, no matter their skin colour, no matter their age etc. As an ambulatory walking stick user, I understand the pressure and fear of using mobility aids in public spaces and the paranoia of judgement, and my goal is to be the barrier to tell you that you can cosplay with your mobility aids. Think the meme of the army guy blocking sleeping people from knives. That is me blocking people telling you that you can't cosplay with mobility aids.
Also please talk to me about rabies. Rabies is cool.
