The Bangor Union Society is supported by two Vice-Presidents, who play crucial roles in assisting the President and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. They act as the executive team’s right-hand leaders, helping coordinate events, programs, and member activities while maintaining the society’s standards and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the President: The Vice-Presidents step in for the President when necessary, presiding over meetings, representing the society, or making decisions in the President’s absence. They remain fully informed about ongoing initiatives to ensure continuity in leadership.
Leading Initiatives: Each Vice-President often takes responsibility for specific projects, committees, or programs. This can include organizing events, overseeing communications, managing membership engagement, or coordinating special initiatives that benefit the society and its members.
Collaboration and Coordination: The two Vice-Presidents work closely with each other, the President, and other officers to ensure tasks are delegated effectively and operations run smoothly. Their teamwork ensures that no aspect of the society’s functioning is overlooked.
Mentoring and Member Engagement: Vice-Presidents support members by fostering participation, offering guidance, and encouraging an inclusive and active community within the society. They help maintain morale and ensure members feel valued and involved.
Strategic Planning: Both Vice-Presidents contribute to shaping the society’s goals and long-term plans, providing input on policies, programs, and events to ensure the organization remains forward-looking and responsive to members’ needs.
Overall, the two Vice-Presidents are versatile leaders whose collaboration, initiative, and organizational skills are vital to the success of the Bangor Union Society. By supporting the President and leading key projects, they help maintain a vibrant, well-managed, and engaged society.
We meet every Thursday in the Greek Room, Main Arts, 6-8pm.
