Easter can be a challenging time for students who are unable to return home. To foster a sense of community and following the success of the Christmas meal, Undeb Bangor, in collaboration with Bangor Cathedral Church, the Church in Wales society, the International Student Support Office, and the University Chaplain from St Deiniolโ€™s, organised a special community Easter meal. This event was provided free of charge for international students who remained in Bangor over the Easter break.

Nida Ambreen, Vice President for Education at Undeb Bangor and an international student herself, took the lead in organising the community meal. Nida expressed her enthusiasm, stating, โ€œThis event was incredible and heartwarming; we distributed over 160 meals by the end of the day. Students were immensely grateful for this offering. Collaborating once again with Undeb Bangor, Bangor Cathedral Church, the Church in Wales society, and the International Student Support Office was a true pleasure. A big thank you to everyone involved for making this celebration a success. It truly highlights the strength of our community bonds.โ€

The event, held at Undeb Bangorโ€™s Activities Hub, not only provided attendees with a delicious free meal but also offered entertainment and a warm, safe space. Importantly, it fostered a sense of community and companionship, which is particularly significant during times of assignment deadlines and exam pressures. Therefore, the existence of such a community is invaluable.

Over 97 students attended the Easter meal, transforming Undeb Bangorโ€™s Activities Hub into a egg-ceptional space. Additionally, they enjoyed an Easter egg hunt around the activities hub, ensuring that nobody missed out on the Easter fun this year!
