Cash is still legal tender in the UK and there is overwhelming evidence that paying with cash helps working-class students, mature students, and those students with children to budget their limited income. During Storm Isha, I found myself unable to buy food in the Ffriddoedd Village shop as I only had a few coins and no money on my credit card, so I had to go hungry until the hazardous weather got better and I managed to go to Morrisons. The same happened to other two fellow students. The university should ditch their ''cashless payments everywhere on campus'' policy implemented in 2021 and really prove with actions this is a university by the people for the people. Please, sign this petition if you believe all students, regardless of social background and whether they have wealthy parents or not, should be treated equally by making the option of paying by cash available again in all shops, Bar Uno, and premises on campus.

Thank you.

If I wish to buy hot water to drink, in my own cup, I am charged 10p, but I have to pay by card..... ridiculous.
