Stef Black

 

External Trustee  

Stef is a graduate of Bangor University having studied for an undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.  She was actively involved with the Studentsโ€™ Union during her studies, mainly with Student Volunteering Bangor (SVB) where she was a member of RAG, Nightline and the SVB committee.  She also wrote for Seren and presented on Storm.

 

Since graduating, Stef has worked for the University of Glasgow SRC and the University of Stirling Studentsโ€™ Union.  She then spent six years working for sparqs, a publicly funded agency for Scotland's university and college sectors, focussing on supporting student engagement with national sector agencies, learning, teaching, and quality, as well as sector policy developments. In November 2022, Stef join the Scottish Funding Council, a non-departmental public body which invests around ยฃ2 billion of public money to deliver a world-leading system of tertiary education, research, and innovation across Scotland. There, she manages a portfolio of institutions, as well as supporting sector developments related to learning and quality.

 

Stef lives near Stirling, Scotland with her husband and two young boys.  She is delighted that this role will allow her to support Undeb Bangor once again and looks forward to visiting Bangor more often.
