Welcome to the UNITE society for students with Autism and similar experiences!

The goal of our society is to provide a relaxed environment for autistic students to meet and socialise with one another. All members are fellow students, and the society functions much like a big friendship group that gets together regularly to do different activities. Many of our members are happy just chatting, but we have a variety of things you can engage with alongside that, from simple art materials to board games - we now have an item library, so if you're big on jigsaws, for example, and want to take one of ours home for a time then we can lend it out to you! We also arrange additional trips and meets, like group walks or low-key pub socials, and any member is free to suggest any idea for an activity they have.

UNITE is a low-key group that takes new members all year round and has no hard rules on how to attend; come to every meeting or come once a month, come late or leave halfway through, come up with a new social or just hang out in the group-chat, be the social butterfly or be content just listening in to others - all we ask is that you bring an open mind! We understand that everyone is different and we'll do our best to find a balance that keeps everyone happy.

We would also like to note that a formal diagnosis is not required for attendance; we are fully aware of the waiting times and difficulties in accessing assessments, especially for those who were overlooked until adulthood, and it is not our place to question anyone's medical status.

Please come down to one of our meets and see if we're the group for you! If you want to contact us or ask any questions, the best way to get in touch is via our email, unite@undebbangor.com, or by emailing the chair at stm20gxr@bangor.ac.uk.

Hopefully we'll see you soon!
