This project organises weekly play sessions for children aged 6–12 who are on the Autism spectrum or are awaiting diagnosis. Children attend the Kid’s Room at the Activities Hub on Ffriddoedd site, where our team of volunteers support them with fun activities while giving parents some time to themselves.
Through the role, volunteers will gain valuable experience working with autistic children and receive Autism Awareness and Safeguarding Training.
Sbectrwm is an award-winning project, having won the Undeb Employability Award (2024), Undeb Volunteering Project of the Year (2025) and High Sheriff Awards (2025 & 2026).

As a volunteer with Sbectrwm, you’ll help run our weekly after-school sessions centred around creating a welcoming environment where every child can be themselves.
Volunteers help set up and run activities, play games, support children with activities and make sure everyone feels included and comfortable. You’ll work as part of a friendly volunteer team and may also help tidy up at the end of each session.
You don’t need previous experience working with autistic children, but you should be respectful, patient and considerate of each child’s individual needs. We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic volunteers who are happy to get involved, bring ideas and help create a positive experience for the children and their families.
