The Language and Culture Society is an inclusive society that celebrates different languages and cultures.

Whether languages is your degree subject, your hobby, or something you're interested in, everyone is welcome here at LangSoc. Our aim is to bring linguists together to practise languages and embrace and immerse ourselves in other cultures.

Our main languages are , Japanese, Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Romanian, Urdu and Malayalam but we welcome all linguists of all languages! Throughout the year we hold regular tandems that allow us to practise our languages together, as well as many events celebrating various foreign holidays and cultural traditions. Throughout the year we raise funds for multiple charities through fundraising events and activities. We hold regular themed socials (both drinking and non-drinking) as well as society trips that allow us to socialise and spend time together, and we have a fantastic buddy system which allows you to meet with native speakers of your language of study and communicate in your respective languages.
