🥋Name: Libby Steele
🥋Degree: 2nd Year PhD Researcher in the School of Human and Behavioural Sciences looking at developing a new starting system within Deaf sport to enhance equality for Deaf athletes 🏃🏼♀️
🥋Responsibilities: As the club treasurer, it is my responsibility to oversee all of the monies coming in and out of the club and to keep the club in financial order. I provide regular financial updates to the committee and authorise any payments within the club.
🥋Karate Grade: 2nd Kyu (brown with one white stripe) in the Wado-Ryu style of karate.
🥋When did you start Karate? I joined the Karate club 4 (nearly 5) years ago and have never looked back. Prior to doing Karate, I did Tae Kwon-Do for 10 years and reached my 2nd Dan.
🥋Why do you love Karate and what is your favourite aspect? I love Karate because it provides an environment that encourages determination, resilience, commitment and challenge. While Karate is great for physical strength, flexibility and mobility, I personally do Karate for the mental well-being benefits. My favourite aspect of Karate is definitely Kata. I love learning something new with each grade and trying different styles of Karate!
