🥋Name: Isaac Jepson

🥋Degree: 2nd year BA Criminology and Criminal Justice

🥋Responsibilities: As Club Captain, I oversee everything on the committee and within the club itself. I chair monthly committee meetings, am the main contact between the club and the AU and our governing body (The British Karate Association) and I keep all club members up to date and informed about training, competitions, etc.

🥋Karate Grade: First Kyu (Brown-and-two-white belt) in the Shotokan style of karate.

🥋When did you start karate?: I started my karate journey with my Dad when I was six years old. We trained for a few years but both decided to give it up. In March 2017, after around 5 years away from karate, I decided to give it another go and I fell in love with it again and have been training ever since.

🥋Why do you love karate and what is your favourite aspect?: I love karate because there is always something new to learn/something to work towards, it keeps you fit and well disciplined, and it allows you to connect with like-minded people. My favourite aspect of karate has always been Kata because I love spending time learning new katas and getting better and better at them.
