Greetings, I'm Megan Rooney, a third-year student delving into the realms of Psychology and Clinical Psychology where I explore the intricate depths of the human mind, particularly concerning mental health; Within our committee I serve as Chair, Health and Safety Officer, Complaints Manager, Wellbeing Officer and Social Media Manager for Horrorscape during this academic year!
Beyond the confines of textbooks and committee duties, I embrace the art of transformation as a drag king, relishing in the world of performance and self-expression as you'll often spot me dressed up for events like Halloween, fully immersed in the joy of embodying different personas. During my downtime, I find solace in the captivating narratives of the Saw franchise, drawn to their intricate plots and psychological depth.
When I'm not fulfilling my committee responsibilities, you'll likely find me engaged in research on mental health topics, driven by a passion to deepen my understanding and contribute positively to this field which has now become the focal point of my degree during my final year. This journey of exploration and inquiry has evolved into a central aspect of my academic pursuits, guiding my studies towards a deeper understanding of the complexities within the realm of mental health. With each research endeavour, I am not only expanding my knowledge base but also striving to make meaningful contributions to the field, with the ultimate aim of fostering positive change and improving the well-being of individuals affected by mental health challenges.
