Bangor Afro Caribbean Society strives to celebrate cultures from both Africa and the Caribbean. We strive to embrace and celebrate different cultures. We aim to provide a support network for African and Caribbean students during their time in Bangor. We also aim to create a community for students to make everyone feel at home in Bangor. Bangor ACS is a means for students to be able to meet like-minded people that they can socialise with. Our social events such as movie nights, debates, outings and other fun meet ups allow students to meet up and discuss topics without feeling uncomfortable and free from judgement. It is also a platform for students to come together to elevate and educate each other on a mass variety of subjects such as race, culture and social matters and popular cultures as well as learning and embracing other cultures, heritages and traditions as well as your own. ACS is a place where students similarities and differences are celebrated and where students are encouraged to share their experiences in discussions such as in our โ€œgrowing up in a black householdโ€, where students were able to discuss shared commonalities in a fun and comfortable space. As well as educating our members we also want ACS to be a fun space where people can come and unwind outside of their degrees. We want ACS to be a home to ALL students, both international and home students, at any graduate level, studying any degree.
