Ways to submit:
- Write up a personal experience or film a video about your personal experience - in English or Welsh.
If you would prefer to share your story via interview, please contact us: we’ll arrange questions in advance and schedule a call to do the interview. You’ll get to review everything before it’s finalised. We hope to be able to offer interviews in Welsh: if you would prefer this, please tell us.
Please submit your contribution or request for an interview via this form or to miriam@itgetsbetter.org.uk, alongside a brief bio of yourself to be shared publicly: name, pronouns, age, location, photo, where else we can find your work if applicable. You’re also welcome to be anonymous, or share just some of this information.
The themes we’re accepting are purposefully broad. You might share stories or reflections about:
How you overcame a challenge as an LGBT+ person
How you’ve found queer culture / community
Welsh identity and queer identity: do you feel a sense of Welsh pride, and/or a sense of LGBT+ pride? How do these come together?
Welsh language and queer identity LGBT+ life in cities versus rural places
Finding LGBT+ community as a disabled person
Queer communities of colour in Wales
A historical/famous Welsh person who inspires you
What is your message to your younger self?
What would you say to someone who wants to be an ally to the LGBT+ community?
How you cope with living in a queerphobic world: how you find hope, and anything you'd like to share about how you're making a difference, small or big
Or something completely different.
