Inclusivity and Health and Safety Officer

My name is Joshua Horn, I am 20 years old currently in my 2nd year of my course Marine Biology with Zoology. In the 23/24 academic year I will be undertaking my 3rd year. I wish to apply for two roles within the Endeavour society. The first as the Membership & Safety Officer. I take health and safety very seriously and actively undertake precautions to ensure that no harm is brought onto myself, my fellow peers or the environment around me. In my job we are strictly trained on the measures of health and safety and I feel I can translate that alongside my knowledge from the field works and practical's I have undertaken to ensure that everyone is having a fun but safe time. My secondary application is to be the Inclusivity officer, from my personal experience I know what it is like when I am unable to take part in something due to my disability. So as my role as the inclusivity officer I will ensure that I will do everything in my power to make sure that everyone feels included and everything can be accessible. My hope for this society is to continue it's legacy and to help it thrive for the future. My possible ideas to help the society is to try and contact alumni that have gone into the marine biology field to show the many different routes that everyone can take after their university experience.
