Proposed Uni Changes - Our response
Category: Welfare
The university needs to acknowledge the increase in sexual harassment occurring at the University, and consider teaching mandatory consent & respect classes at the start of lectures, while offering personal safety alarms to female students.
Comments
Rather than the start of lectures, would it be a good part to add into the compulsory induction stuff we had to do online. As well as mabey giving out the drink covers called "my cup condoms" as there are too many people being spiked.
Adding mandatory safety lessons may also be an idea. Teach females how to prevent those situations from occurring in the first place.
I agree with Shaw, simply talking about it isnt enough, women should be taught to simply not exist. It’s the only way this issue could possibly be addressed.
Is this still a problem?
