The results of the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS) are in, and weโre pleased to share that Bangor University has made significant progress thanks to the voices of our final-year undergraduate students.
This year, 73% of eligible students took part in the NSS, a UK-wide survey that gathers feedback from final-year students about their university experience.
Key highlights from this yearโs results include:
- Overall student satisfaction at Bangor increased to 82%, placing the University 4th in Wales among eight participating institutions
- Satisfaction with teaching rose from 86.4% to 87%, lifting Bangor to 3rd in Wales, up from 6th last year, and 46th in the UK out of 124 universities.
- The Studentsโ Union, Undeb Bangor, was recognised for its impact, rising 24 places to 22nd in the UK and 3rd in Wales for representing studentsโ academic interests.
Yakubu Abdulrahman Jidda, President of Undeb Bangor, said:
โIโm pleased to see an increase in overall student satisfaction and teaching satisfaction. Itโs especially encouraging to see the positive response to how well the Students' Union represents studentsโ academic interests. I hope we carry this upward momentum into the next academic year.โ
Professor Nichola Callow, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, added:
โItโs encouraging to see yet another improvement in our NSS results, building on the 10% increase in overall satisfaction we achieved in 2024. This is a testament to the high-quality education and student experience we provide here at Bangor University.โ
Weโd like to thank every student who took the time to complete the NSS and share their experience. Your feedback helps shape the future of education and student life at Bangor.
If youโre entering your final year this September, look out for messages about the NSS during semester two!
