Improved transport links between campuses, such as a shuttle bus service to be provided, like other campus style universities offer. Alternatively, a subsidy or agreement with a local bus service to make the cost of buses more affordable for those who regularly travel between campuses. Whilst this won't happen overnight I urge the University to do some market research into the demand for this, and consider the plausability of such options.
Buses are not reasonably affordable for most students travelling regularly between Menai Bridge and Bangor campuses (in excess of £500 per year for a bus pass). Whilst driving is convenient, not all students drive and it is not environmentally friendly. Walking or cycling are good alternatives, but are not suitable for all students with varied health and ability. Safety is also a concern when walking routes include dark roads when some lectures finish after 5pm in winter.
