    Free Laundry for Halls Students

    Passed

      What do you want?

A laundry credit system for students living in halls. Similar to Leeds University who abolished paying for laundry in 2018.

      Why do you want it?

Laundry is expensive, costing £4.40 for a wash and a dry which will last a week until it needs doing again. Leeds University get 20 "laundry credits" which equals 20 washes, More than enough for term. If Leeds can do this then why can't Bangor. Money for students is already tight enough and laundry takes a relatively large amount of money from us and its practically unavoidable. We already pay over £130 a week in rent so why can't some of this money go towards basic neccessities like a laundry service?

2:49pm on 30 Sep 19 The costs will be passed on with interest to the monthly rental cost which is why no other uni apart from Leeds is doing this

11:45am on 4 Oct 19 Even 5 credits would be something - witness the chaotic scenes in the laundrette in the first few weeks of term as freshers struggle to get the app to work. A friend of mine ended up paying for 2 students' laundry loads.
