Our bees are facing an unprecedented crisis. They’ve lost much of their natural habitat in the past 60 years (including 97 per cent of wildflower-rich
meadows) and are under assault from pesticides.
Bees are crucial to our environment and eco-system, fertilising fruit and vegetables through pollination, helping to feed us and other animals in the process.
By creating beefriendly spaces where we live, we can start to replace and restore some of this lost habitat and help our campuses bloom for bees.
To help, we’re signing up to Friends of the Earth’s ‘Bee & Bee’ campaign and asking for your help to provide bees with:
- A comfy bed
- A nutritious breakfast
- A water supply
We’ll be running Bee & Bee activity on campus and putting up our own ‘Undeb Bangor Bee Hotels’ and asking you to make Bee Hotels and spread wildflowers -
