NUS Affiliation Referendum

At the Undeb Bangor General Meeting which took place on Thursday 30th March students decided that Undeb Bangor should have a referendum on whether or not Undeb Bangor should be affiliated to the National Union of Students.

Therefore, from 16:00 on Wednesday 3rd May until midday on Friday 5th May all students will be able to vote on the question “Should Undeb Bangor (Bangor University Students’ Union), be affiliated to the National Union of Students”.

The campaign period for the referendum will begin on Tuesday 25th April and so Undeb Bangor are looking for students who are interested in getting involved in both the Yes and No campaign. If you’re interested in getting involved on either side you will need to attend the NUS Affiliation Referendum campaign team evening on Monday 24th April (18:00 in the Students' Union, Pontio). The campaign team leads will be decided at this meeting as well as all information regarding campaigning. If you would like any more information please email studentvoice@undebbangor.com.

There will also be a NUS Affiliation Referendum Question and Answer Session on Wednesday 3rd May from 13:30 in Pontio, PL2. We would strongly encourage you to come along to find out more and ask any questions so that you can make an inormed choice when voting.

Should Undeb Bangor (Bangor University Students’ Union), be affiliated to the National Union of Students?

This referendum is on Undeb Bangor’s future membership of NUS. For absolute clarity, in order for the Union to leave membership of NUS the ‘No campaign’ need to achieve 50% plus one of the total number of votes cast.

You are voting on whether or not Undeb Bangor should be affilated to the National Union of Students.

The specific question is "Should Undeb Bangor (Bangor University Students’ Union), be affiliated to the National Union of Students?

Student Trustee Elections

As announced at the General meeting we will also be holding elections for three Student Trustee positons. Nominations open online between Monday 24th April at 09:00 and Thursday 27th April 17:00 with voting taking place from Wednesday 3rd May to Friday 5th May. You can nominate yourself below.
