Shiromini is a 3rd year student of Electronic Engineering here at Bangor University. Only 3 months away from completing her degree, she now faces deportation tomorrow.
We have been working with NUS Wales, our local MP Hywel Williams, the Secretary of State and ultimately, the Home Office - to get MP Amber Rudd to appeal the decision. We are doing all we can to help a much loved student, could you please do the same by signing this petition and sharing it far and wide -https://www.change.org/p/amber-rudd-mp-stop-shiromini-getting-deported-she-is-three-months-away-from-completing-a-degree/w?source_location=petition_show .
Our Vice Chancellor and the Sabbatical Officers of UNDEB Bangor have personally written to the Home Office to express concern about this and asked the Home Secretary to allow Shiromini to stay to complete her degree.
The response so far has been fantastic and it has been picked up by the national media but we have to ensure that this unfair decision is overturned and this can happen if we can raise enough awareness.
Time is of the essence now and we need help with the following
